    When using google to search, it always filters results based on your geographic location.
    But what if you don't want to do that?

    I found a suggestion to use www.google.com/ncr
    ncr = no country redirection
    Which basically re-directs to just www.google.com
    And i'm pretty much right back to geographic localized searches.

    Anybody know how to stop this annoyance?

    at the end of the day google make money from localised ads

    IIRC you can use something like tor to bounce your google search, you still get localised results, but from somewhat random locals

    or you could dive down into advanced options

    https://encrypted.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en (date usage rights...) and change region to any region
