iPhone 3GS acting the maggot

    Me again,
So my iPhone turned itself off yesterday at about 2 o' clock, I left it alone for a while as I've mentioned in here before it's temperamental - to say the least.
I tried to turn it back on at about 6 and it was looking to be plugged into iTunes (restore mode??)
When I brought it home and plugged it into iTunes, I was asked to upgrade the version of iTunes I had on my computer, I did this and tried again, this time it started to restore the phone but it game me a long error along the lines of a kernel dump or kernel error. It flipped back into recovery mode and then gave me the iPhone error 1611, and couldn't find the phone.
I used revo uninstaller to uninstall all Apple apps from my laptop and then re-installed them and tried again, it will pick up the phone but then wont restore it to my old settings.
I tried one last time to restore the phone to factory settings and it put it straight back to the apple screen loop then a white screen.
I'm at the end of my tether trying to get this fixed.
The phone has never been hacked or jailbroken and is as it was when I got it as a replacement for a thieved iPhone.
    Can anyone help please?
