Renault Grand Scenic boot problem

just wondering if anyone can help me.
Last summer my battery went dead. I got a friend to jump start it for me but he blew a fuse on the battery. This was ok even though it took a while to find the fuse.
The problem is, is that ever since that happened I have not been able to open my boot. We have checked all the fuses and they all seem to be working. I can open it from the inside using a screwdriver etc but from the outside nothing.
I even got a mechanic to have a quick look at it while he was servicing it but he wasn't able to determine what the problem could be.
Has anyone ever encountered this problem.
Obviously taking it to the main details is a last resort as it is too expensive.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can shed some light on this for me.

I've heard of this before so I don't think you are alone.

    Try asking here.

There is a separate fusebox located under the bonnet which might contain a fuse for the boot lock. It's a complete bugger to get at. Did you check those fuses?

yeah we had checked all those fuses when the car wouldnt start originally, only to find out it was the fuse sitting on top of the battery that was blown. So I'm pretty sure it's not one of those. Might have another look. Like you said they are a pain to get at.
@ Stevie - yeah i have trawled through the Renault forums looking for a solution and haven't come across anything so far .

Dead control unit then, so it's possible that the motor in the boot was blown too. If you know someone who knows a bit about electrics, you'll need to take the trim off the inside of the boot door and test the motor to see if it's getting power.
