Prescription Query

    Hello,
I got my prescription from the opticians because I am going to buy glasses online from feicim.ie
My query is this: On my right eye the AXIS is 10 & left eye is 165. Would this be right? Should they not be nearer in number? I just wanted to double check this before I purchase that it is not a error. I have no idea about any of this.

    Thanks in advance

that sounds ok, the axes can be different in both eyes. you could always ring the optician and check with them, they can't give the rx over the phone unless its to an optometrist or a dispensing optician or medical practitioner but if you call out the rx they should be able to confirm it. hope this helps

An axis can vary anywhere from 0 to 180. And it's not a problem having two completly different axis for both eyes. The axis is set by the Optician during your eyetest. If you remember back when you were looking at the dots the Optician was asking you which is better 1 or 2, 3 or 4 etc this is them finding out your axis.
