hopefully right forum, just wondering is there a wage calculation sheet, preferably in excel, for 2011, that allows you to fill in the wage and tax details and shows final wage due?

Personally id spend €120 on Thesaurus if i was running a buiness. If not something like http://www.taxcalc.eu/ will help.

The problem with excel sheets is that they regularly go wrong somewhere along the way - seen it a thousand times over

I wrote a spreadsheet which is available online at taxcalc.eu/monthlyss.

However, I would very STRONGLY second the previous advice that the spreadsheet is NOT designed to cater for businesses- it is merely a guidance tool.
If you are using that spreadsheet for a business, you should be aware that it may contain errors. I do NOT give any warranty that it is accurate for all or any cases in any tax year for which it will perform calculations- choose to use at your own risk and caveat emptor.

OP - if you get audited and Revenue find errors in the calculations you will find that they are very unsympathetic, and that any penalties and interest will be a multiple of the cost of a proper payroll package.

Your attitude strikes me as very shortsighted.

Sage do a free version of payroll package which is really easy to use and I think it can handle up to 5 employees and after that you have to upgrade to the next level package. I've used it and its really quick and simple to use, you don't need special payslip paper and it gives you all the payroll reports, etc. worth a look.
