i dont know much about alfa's ,are they reliable and any good.

They are very good, but not very reliable if not looked after. No NCT since 2010 sounds a bit dodgy, why do all that work and not put it through the test?

    +1, lots of TLC required!

My GT has been quite reliable so far, but working on them can be a PITA, even changing out headlight bulbs is an act of contortionism!

T.I. Autos, if you are in Dublin, are supposedly a good Alfa specialist. If you are worried about it you could ask them to check it out for you or maybe even give you some tips on what to look for in a test drive.

not so sure about this one .
I'm not surprised, it looks well rough. Find a good one with FSH and an NCT, you won't pay much (if any) more for it.

the 146 was never a good car - to be fair.
I love Alfa's and would defend them to the hilt, but a cheap one, particularly a poorly looked after one and lastly a poorly looked after, cheap 146 is a major no no.
you could be lucky, but then again you could be very unlucky.

Judging by your budget you are after some cheap motoring.
Alfa romeo is not the answer.
