Alright was trying to sort out the boradband situation here at home few weeks ago (i was away recently and just got back, and live just between lucan and newcastle in dublin...

Rang around and really dont want to get a mobile type of broadband a-la meteor etc but we can't get UPC, The Eircom phoneline only handles up to a whopping 1mb

Wimax isn't covered here (previously on breeze fixed wireless for years before imagine scraped that service to "upgrade" to wimax leaivng us with the only option of getting a 4mb up/down unlimited* connection with a 100 instalation fee and 50 a month after 2 staff members said it was discontinued 3rd phonecall sorted it)

but yeah phone line or cable broadband isnt really an option, figure fixed wireless is the only decent way

SO is ripplecom the only company that will do that? just want a few mb download speeds for a reasonable cost... rang digiweb, gave all the details spend ages doing it, then a week later they ring and jsut say it isnt available here, without even coming out

but yeah kinda stuck for reasonable ideas for a provider! any help appreciated
