The Lexus was stolen in Corrundula Galway so I presume Skyline is knocking around somewhere up there.

    Could be anywhere though.

    Hey dude,

I would post an ad on Carsireland.ie (free) with pics saying that it's stolen - you never know. Ditto Donedeal and Gumtree. Not sure if it's allowed, but it should bring your car up if anyone happens to be searching

Will do it later, have it up on most Irish owners club sites.

    Cheers for the thought.

Also cheers for the free bump.

That's a close one alright, from the picture same colour, with white under the bonnet so it HAS been resprayed.

Chassis number would be be friend here.

Wheels can be swapped easily, and year? Sure that's just stuck onto the front/back!

    Jeez . . .

How many early 90's Skylines that were white, but are now porsche blue can there be in Ireland?

Can you ask the Garda in that area to check it out?

I really sypmathise with you - I had a motorbike stolen by scum many years ago. I was lucky in that I worked with people who it turned out had an idea that it was some dirtbags from their local area who might have done it. I told the Garda, they followed it up, and I had my bike back within a week. The Garda that found it dragged it through a field to the recovery truck. And late 80's 1200cc bikes were not light.

    Good luck with your search.

So rang the Station outside Limerick and they are very helpfull.

Also got a phone call from someone who spotted it in Halfords car park last Sunday around 1PM

To the above poster glad you got your bike hopefully a similar ending here :)

    Cheers for looking out guys.

Sorry to hear about your car. Just letting you all know that I have heard that donedeal attracts a lot of scum if you are selling a modified sports car, quad or dirt bike. A month or so back a lad from Galway was selling a quad, a group of lads arrived in a van to view the quad, beat him up and stole the quad.

That might just be the cert being changed over to the lad it got robbed from...assuming they only bought it a while ago?

Or else we're onto something :P

So your mate owned the car and swapped it? Did he send off the log book himself or give it with the car?

Yes he owned the Skyline and swapped it. He sent off the book himself, but thats now been cancelled and being sent back to him.

The Lexus has been given back, and the Guards have said they have better things to be doing than going to Galway to find it.

Well, if he send it off, there was an address on that, wasn't there ? How hard can it be :) Unless the address is false, but then the logbook would have gone to nowhere anyhow.

False address used, luckily he rang Shannon as it was being processed so it was cancelled and now being returned to him.

I'm keeping an eye out for it but it is very unlikely it is around the roads now.
Have you heard of any new updates on the car?

Nope never found, the Lexus was returned to original owner.

Guards did **** all, and are being investigated by ombudsman.

No insurance payout due to the car being taken with keys.

    it's actually not that uncommon.

its in the terms and conditions of most policies !

So if someone breaks into your house and gets keys and takes car the insurance will not pay out?

i think its most car insurance companies won't pay cos it was started with the keys.

but apparently I've heard that the home insurance will cover it if your house is broken into and the keys are taken ! but i can't confirm that or anything !
