I've ordered a Cyma CM040 from Eirsoft for Copehill Down and I'm looking to put some upgrades into it to increase performance over stock.

After the obvious regreasing and reshimming of the gearbox and usage of a Guarder hopup rubber and nub, I'm going to put in a tbb for increased accuracy and a G&P M120 AK motor to improve rof.

Am I missing any major points?

You could put a mosfet in, although the fit would be very tight with the folding stock.

    Thanks Inari.

Should be able to fit a mosfet above the gearbox and upper. There are plenty of options available too size-wise, so there shouldn't be a problem getting one that fits.

If you are going to fit a MOSFET as Inari suggested then can I suggest this one as it carries its own integral fuse and is quiet compact and there should still be enough space left to fit a 9.6v battery

I'd suggest deans connectors and a bearing spring guide.

I had a look at this mosfet online and according to this review, it doesn't have an ab feature. I'd rather have this feature tbh, but thanks for the advice DeBurca.

Might resist the urge to switch from tamiya to deans just yet (although it is the better option). The bearing spring guide is a good idea. It's down on the parts list. Thanks lefty.

Just getting back to this project now.

I'm looking at mosfets at the moment and to be quite honest, I'm a little overwhelmed with the different products available.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an AB mosfet that is compatible with a V3 gearbox? The companies I have been looking at are Extreme-Fire and AWS. If anyone has another company that they use, let me know.

Well, if it does have extra features, it's a bonus. I don't know what features are beneficial and features which are not necessary but handy to have.

I'm also not too worried about cost as long as it's not too excessive.

    Tadgh,
Extreme fire do fantastic stuff and their service is second to none-highly recommended. If you just want actve brake they do SW-AB-LONG-comes with a built in thermal fuse-dont know about fitting space in your AK but ths dimensions are listed on the site(not a lot bigger than a standard fuse holder)
    Dave:)

Cheers Dave and lefty. The SW-AB-Long seems to be my best bet and I'll ask QAS about their mosfets on their thread.

I might just stick with the AB feature, I'm not after the 3 round burst feature and I don't seem to require the other features.
