    Hi Folks,

Can some one help before I pull out what remaining hair I have left.

Our very old shower pump is literally on it's last legs and I have a Bristan Shower pump to replace. (photo below)

All went well with fitting but when I tried the shower practically nothing coming out other than a trickle.

Is it the pump?? Could it not be powerful enough (2.0 bar)

Pump is in airing cupboard on the floor. The hot water tank is above it on a pedestal and the cold tank is in the loft.

Shower... Which is in the bath. ~ 8" from ceiling. There is ~22 feet of run from the pump to shower head, with 6ft from floor to shower head.

and the pump.. Bristan Durapeed 70

Is the pump kicking in and is the yellow dial up to full....

Is the shower valve thermostat set half way so its drawing cold and hot.

Is there iso valves on the connections where the pump is attached. Are these open.

    Outside that. Airlock

The boost dial was up to full but was not sure if the pump kicked in. the old one was really quite noisy but not sure whether I should hear the new one as much.

The shower is nearly always set to half way and the valves where it plumbs in are open. I'm assuming you mean liek a stop cock but on each hot / cold feed into the pump.

I put the old one back in and that work, but is very tempermental as to when it works and usually requires a whack to the pump to get it going (hence the change)

Would airlock be a resaonable deduction?? How would i get rid of this?

Or is the new pump a dead one?

    Thanks for the help.

Sounds like a flow switch problem on the new on. Swop the connection arounf temp. Sometimes the cold pumps faster as it flows higher.

Dont leave it this way permanent and try not to have a scalding tank
