    Hi,

I'm going to the Crucible this year. Does anyone know what is the handiest way to get there from Dublin? It looks like flying to either Manchester or Leeds-Bradford then taking the train to Sheffield are the best options, any thoughts?

    Thanks!

    Hi
The best and easiest way to go is as you said fly to Manchester and get the train to Sheffield. The train station is in the airport in Manchester so you don't have to go far.Sheffield isn't that big so wherever you stay your only a few mins walk or a short cab ride to the Cruicble.
Check online the flight times and train times so you won't be waiting too long when you land.
Also if your budget stretches try and stay at the Novotel Hotel, most of the press boys and tournament staff stay there and there is always a bit of fun at nightime in the bar.
    Enjoy!

I went last April with my girlfriend to the final, it was a great weekend! try and check the train times online and book online, I have found out the hard way in the UK that you need to pre book train tickets or you end up spending a fortune. This is not always the case but worth a few mins checking it online

We stayed at the Hilton, It was very reasonable. I met a few of the players there. There was no "buzz" in the bar at night tho :( we had a brilliant time all the same and we'll be back this year too!!
