Respraying kitchen units

Just wondering if anyone has experience of having kitchen units resprayed? Current units are in good shape but look a little dated so trying to figure out if respraying could be an option? Current kitchen is about 8 years old. I think the doors are a foil wrapped MDF. Based in Dublin & would love to hear of anyones…

As they are foil wrapped this probably wont work very well... maybe consider replacement doors in MDF with a paint finish - you can paint them again if needed and if you go for a plain door which is more up to date & flexible.

Looks like sound advice.

Seriously thinking about doing this. Somehow the idea popped into my head to paint our kitchen instead of buying new. (saw nice kitchen in Homebase, only about 14000 without appliances :eek::eek: )

Anyone else paint their thermofoil kitchen cabinets?

In most cases the foil wrap can be removed from the doors then you can spray the mdf which is under foil wrap..the average price of a respray is about €800.

Hi Nu2Dis,
I take it you are new to this.Let me just say..DON'T. Foil doors are not designed to be painted.Yes it can be done using latex paint and clear varnish applied with a roller. Have you any idea how difficult it is to work with these materials?I do.Do yourself a favor and rethink it.
