Best Software for ripping Vinyl to MP3

    Hi there,

    I got a USB powered ION turntable for ripping Vinyl to MP3. I used it with the packaged software but I was not that impressed with the final result.

    I was wondering if anyone can recommend software they have used and are happy with.

    What aspect of the results were you not happy with?

    What bit rate were you encoding the MP3s at?

    Audacity is free and very high quality but might be overkill for some:

    A couple of years ago, I set about the mammoth task of converting my entire vinyl collection to mp3, about 3,000 12" & 7" singles and approx 1,000 albums.
    Did the entire job without a hitch using Audiograbber, completely free and very useful and flexible, take a look at it:
