**** you RSA. ****ing neighbour reverses into my car and cracks my rear brake light, so i figure that's unroadworthy to do my driving test, so i get a rental. Mention to the guy 3 times it's for my driving test "says grand no bother"

Get the car which was quite nice (opel insignia 1.8tdi). drive it over the weekend and show for my test, guys says "this is a rental, wheres your letter?" "what letter?" "the one from your insurance company and the car hire company" "i said i got this car on saturday, mail ain't that fast r-tard"
Appearantly emails and phone calls ain't proof enough.
So here's to another 3 months on their ****tarded waiting list for another 70 euro fee, (€350 to date) for an outdated impractical and downright uselss driving licencing system. Ima go burn that building down.

    **Rant over**

Edit:/ Called the RSA, "please re-apply online or by post" Anyone know where to get dodgy licences? :o

Send the bill to your neighbour, it's their fault.

    Point 7

Plus I'm surprised you could hire a car at all without a full licence TBH.

How many time have you failed it?

Calling the tester a retard isn't exactly going to get you a gold star either...

Yes I know you're probably paraphrasing, but as Alun points out; you were the one who failed to have the correct documentation for the driving test, it's not the tester's fault.

were you insured to do the test in that rental?

Also, asking a car-rental rep if it was OK probably wasn't the best course of action either, he probably wouldn't know one way or the other. The only people who can say for definite whether it's OK to sit your test in a rental car is the RSA, and they clearly state what the requirements are in such a situation on their website. FWIW I gather that the usual thing to do in such circumstances is to contact a local driving school and arrange to use one of their cars.

Might have got away with it until then :pac:

Seriously though, that seems like bad luck. I've heard plenty of stories of misfortune around the time of peoples driving test. How did you manage to get a rental car with a provisional?

who rented a car for the test to you?

It was enterprise rent-a-car, that was who Zurich told to get the car from.
