    Hi all,

Does anyone have problems using Betamax providers for VoIP ?. I have two problems which I am unable to eradicate completely. I have an 8mb Broadband which is not heavily used. It's via UPC but con't see why I'd need QoS or anything like that.

    1. Sometimes getting Echo on calls

    2. The odd time I hear noises in the backround which sound like the taping of notes on a Xylaphone - Bing, Ding, Bong

Sounds like maybe I have some settings wrong on my SPA3102

Out of interest, do you have similar problems if you remove the ATA from the equation? (e.g. using a softphone with the same bb connection and VSP)

Have you tried using a different VSP to see if the problem might be their end? (from other posts, I seem to remember you mentioning using VoipGain? If so, the quality has always been pretty good this end - but I'm very much a sporadic user

Edit: It's actually rynga. No experience there, but I've seen other bordsies use it without mention of echo or other issues)

Can't help with the settings for the 3102, but I'd love to hear if others had any advice as I am considering picking one up.

It seems the Echoing and backround bings and dings are common to Betamax companies. I know of voipgain and voipcheap users (who both have SPA3102's) who have these issues. However, while I haven't used the Client on a PC yet, I think all things point to the SPA3102 to be honest.

So anyone out there using a Linksys SPA3102 and connecting to a Betamax company VoIP ?
