10 year scrappage question

    I have an old 00 Punto. Is it in effect now worth €2,000 due to the scrappage?

    I already have another car so I don't want to buy a new car, just get rid of the Punto.

    No it's not worth 2k.

    If someone wanted to buy it off you to avail of the scrappage deal then they'd need to have it in their name for 12 months before hand.

    No the scrappage scene only gives an allowance on VRT which is applied to new cars bought, you dont get paid for scrapping your car unless your buying a brand new one.

    You can only avail of the scrappage offers if you by a new car. You don't actually think they are giving €2000 in exchange for unwanted cars?

    thats right and the car needs to meet the requirements as regards the tax insurance and NCT situation too

    Its actually 18 months
