Renault Megane Tourer Brake issue

    Hi,

got a Megane Tourer under the scrappage scheme lest than a year ago (so still under warranty). On two occasions I found that I had to brake hard. The first time I thought it was the grit still on the roads after the snow and though no more about it. Then Saturday it happened again when I had to brake with more pressure applied to the brakes than usual - a noise, similar to changing gears without clutching accompanied by the usual grinding noise started and the car seemed to pull to the right and literally GRIND to a scary slow halt .

I never has a car with ABS before but I'm sure this should not be the case...OR SHOULD IT?
