    Hi,

I have this really embarrassing problem which I would appreciate any advice which could be given to me.

Every morning without fail I have diarrhoea. When I am at home before making the 40 minutes trip to work I am fine but once I get in the car to make the trip I am crippled with cramps and the urge to go to the toilet there and then. It's like I have no control & need to go then. It's very embarrassing & to make the problem worse is that there is only 1 toilet in work, which is unisex & located in the middle of the office so I have to privacy or anything.

Is there anything that I can do to make this problem stop? I have tried drinking Peppermint Tea, which some days it works & others it doesn't. I avoid all spicey foods now. I am reaching the end of my teather with this issue and I need help & advise from people.

It's also like anytime that I am not near a toilet, mainly when I'm in the car going on a long drive I have this issue. I don't know if it is all in my head, which half of me thinks it is or if I have an underlying medicial condition.

I would appreciate any information you could give me in relation to this.

    Many Thanks!!

Sorry to hear you're suffering, it can't be pleasant.
How is your fibre intake? If you increase it, the urges may stop.
Go to the doctor and get checked for IBS or intolerances.
    Good luck!

Have you gone to a doctor?

I had very similar problem, turns out (after much medical investigation) it was fully mental, nothing physically wrong with me. I found this out after spending a few months on the other side of the world away from my daily work routine schedule (similar to yours) and I found I had no problem. It had become part of my daily schedule, this seemingly uncontrollable urge to 'go' there and then. It had become as mentally necessary as needing to get into my car to drive to work, or putting my coat on.

After an extended period spent abroad, I found that it's no longer as much a part of my morning 'routine' as it was before, it still happens every few days but not daily.

what you are experiencing isn't normal. There is a reason for it, whether physical, mental or environmental. You can't treat this by yourself and you shouldn't and couldn't be expected to learn to live with it.

    GO. TO. YOUR. DOCTOR.

Go today. Pick up the phone as soon as you have finished reading this post and get an appointment.

In order for you to get a normal life back, you will need to talk to a doctor. The sooner you do that, the sooner you will be on the road to diagnosing and getting the treatment you need.

Stop thinking this will go away by itself. If your car was leaking, you'd go to a mechanic. If your windows were leaking, you'd call a builder.

    contact the doc. Now.

Make an appointment with your doctor ASAP, we are not qualified to tell you what is wrong nor what you should do about it.
