Hi, I was just wondering when you could begin to reserve a place in corrib village for next year?

    *bashes corrib* :P

doesn't say online yet, but keep an eye on their website - http://www.corribvillage.com/student/index.html

also be aware of the fact that you now have to pay the money in one lump at the beginning of the year. it's a lot of money tbh.

and it's a complete dive, where you're not getting good value for money. you'd be better off taking a house, and visiting corrib for the parties. at least you don't have to clean up afterwards :P

+1 to the above. Go for something like Gort imo. It's better accomodation and still student orientated (well, except for the new private apartments opposite Dunnes!). Corrib's only positive is the "craic", but tbh the security there put dampeners on that too (such as having friends come over after a night out, etc). Plus, when the first few weeks of partying in September quieten down, you still have to live there. That's not a nice thing in cold/wet/damp/dreary days. To many, it's also not a nice thing in sunny/bright/warm days too!

Best advice regarding Corrib is to go see it before making a decision or parting with any money. I know several students who were going to go to Corrib and went elsewhere (Gort, Menlo, etc) after seeing the standards of the accomodation. If you see it and still go there, well at least you've done your homework. Too many go there (like I did many (many) moons ago) without having first seen it! You get more value for your money elsewhere.

If you're not a fussy snivelling little mammy's boy then Corrib isn't that bad tbh. It really is way better than anywhere else for 1st Years as there aren't any second years there (apart from the foreign students who generally don't socialise with anyone else much anyway).

Their management and policies are beyond ridiculous though..

If you have a few friends already here, or coming up at the same time, rent a house if ye can. Never tell them that you are first years.

A real house/apartment will be cheaper, thought you'll have to pay bills etc. but you'll actually sleep at night when you want to.
