The SatRep online briefing on December 22nd went into some detail on the cold outbreak around mid-December, labelled by MTC as the "Greenland Express". The recording's available here (it's around 15MB). It then goes onto talk further about the cold weather all around Europe on the run up to Christmas. Well worth a listen
