How come? It's so annoying not being able to search for stuff

Not quite sure - I know that if you log off you can search. I'm able to do search being a mod

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

i've also noticed that none of my posts in here come up when you look at my profile stats... what's that about? it's annoying not to be able to find a thread you posted in quickly from there...

Both those measures are done to allow some protectiona and privacy for those who are posting about or in response to more sensative matters.

And so it should stay. If for example I am known on my local forum, it's nice to know that people from my area cannot find my posts in here by clicking the "see all posts" button.

I wish I'd a choice to allow my posts here to be shown in my 'Show all posts' section :(

That's strange cause I just clicked on my username in a different browser without being logged in & it showed all my posts (including the ones here) when I clicked on the 'Find all posts' link?

Seriously? Actually I change my mind completely. I like this rule. Now I can stop worrying about someone I know clicking my profile and checking what I said here. :D

I suppose it's fair enough. It just bugs me sometimes. Then again, a lot of things bug me these days! Old and cranky I am... :p

Except that they could just log out, paste the url to your userpage, then hey presto.

That the no-search function is easily circumvented renders it entirely redundant, not to mention irritating for its genuine would-be users.

Nobody I know would ever think of that. :P
