I've been looking around all the big stores like Tesco, Dunnes etc but can't find any freezer paper. Does it have a different name here or does it just not exist?

Nope I don't think we have anything like that in Ireland. Greaseproof paper is widely available but I'd say it's thinner than freezer paper..
Maybe 'brown paper' used for lining cake tins and covering copybooks might do. You'll find it in stationery shops

Doesn't exist, it has to be imported. That said, you can get a box for 10 euro from Fabric Matters ( as it's used quit a lot in quilting).

It's part way down the page here

What do you want to use it for.

If it is for templates in patchwork then I have a free alternative. The wrapping that printer paper comes in. I save it all from work. The outside is paper but the inside is coated in a this layer of wax, just like freezer paper. Cut your shape, lay is wax side down on fabric and iron, it will stay in place. I even reuse them a number of times.

Thanks for the suggestion but I've already ordered the stuff from ebay.
