Re-glueing letters onto the car

The letters spelling Vectra on the back of the car fell off during the big freeze. Does anyone know if I should go buy special glue in a motor factors place to stick it back on or will ordinary superglue do the trick?

    Thanks

Would that have any effect on the paint over time?

On a related note, whats the best way to debadge a car without damaging the paint?

Any badges that I had to remove or put on again so far had double sided tape on them somewhere (mostly in addition to some nupsie that fitted into some hole)

Taking it off the tape leaves a nasty, sticky residue but no damage to paint ...that only comes when you use acetone or sandpaper to get the residue off :D

To "cut" off the badge, dental floss and a sawing motion works really well

Superglue not a good idea here. Doesn't like contaminated or dirty surfaces and mot flexible enough for metal.

If you want to go the glue route use 2 pack apoxy glu, can be got in any hardware or car shop, Its very strong and they won't fall off.

But as others have said above good double sided tape should do it. Its not normal double sided tape it needs to have a little bit of foam in it, as the panel typically isn't flat and the badge is.

Make sure you clean the area with spirit before you stick/glue anything to it.

Spray the residue with WD40 to remove it easily.
Same for any type of window stickers etc.

Be sure to fix the lettering in exactly the right place. Do it a little wrong or a bit off level and it looks terrible..... like a car that had a cheap repair.

Remember, "Vectra" is spelled differently to how it's pronounced.

    It's spelled CRAP.

    Very important, that.
