Claiming tax back

    Hey everyone,

I have a few question really on tax back.

I only worked 4 months of last year - I assume because of that i'm entitled to tax back? How do I go about claiming it?
I remember the accountant telling me I was on a week 1 basis and to change it to a cumulative basis but it got put on the long finger and I never did - what does that mean?

Also the OH was made redunadant last year and worked 5 months of the year so i'm guessing he's owed tax back as well. As he was made redundant do we have to apply for his tax refund in a different way?

Sorry for the silly questions - i've never been to savvy with tax lingo!

    Thanks :)

    Jen,

Go onto Revenue.ie and sign up to paye anytime if you have not done so already. when you are registered apply for a P21 balancing statement.

Alternativel ring your local revenue office (enter your PP# into the contact locator on Revenue.ie to get your local office) and ask them to issue a P21.

    Regards,

    Brian
