iPhone 4 screen cracked - insurance question

I've cracked the screen on my iPhone 4. One short drop of about one foot and the glass is shattered. To claim on insurance I assume I'd have to send it back - do they provide a replacement iPhone? I can't go without my phone for work.

If they don't, does anyone know any other options? I was going to just get the screen replaced but it takes an hour and I don't really want to spend €150 on it when I've already spent so much on the insurance.

    It's o2 & Zurich Phonecover

No case, fell on street. Second time it's happened too, very annoying. I've managed over ten years never breaking a phone and both iPhones have broken on their first small fall. Makes me question their merchantable quality.............

Did the phone jump to the ground?

go to the o2 store, its quickest, they'll send it away for repair, it will take up to two weeks.
you can deal with your insurance through the post but it's longer.
they offer a loan phone service in store depending on stock, it wont be an IPhone, it'll be a basic phone and you may be asked for a fully refundable deposit.

    thats your option
anything you do after that is at your own expense.

Yeah, that's what I was worried about. My primary problem is getting a replacement - I work min. 15 hour days usually on the move so I have to have email (and I have a replacement BlackBerry so I can use that) - except that the iPhone SIM card is micro and won't fit the BB.

Do you know if there's anywhere in Dublin city that fixes while you wait? Or does it typically take a long time? Tried one place and they said three hours! And is it at least EU150 everwhere? Thanks for your help

I dont know of any places that repair while you wait. but don't worry about the sim, o2 can do a sim exchange to a regular sim in store, pop it in your blackberry then when the iphone is back from repair they can do another sim exchange back to a micro sim - might have some downtime there by the time you get your phone to your computer to sync it

Oh I didn't know that - that's great. I'll try them tomorrow. Maybe I'll get a case while I'm down there.......

    Cheers!
