    Many people watchin it?
Monte Barret just got a majority draw for his efforts and kevin johnson up now.

Im liking the format though, black tie, dancers throughout the night, some live soul music between bouts, jimmy lennon jr as MC.

As for the main event I reckon Holy has a stoppage in him if williams keeps coming with the pressure.

If there was ever an example for fighters carrying on way too long there it is.

Holyfield didn't have an answer for Williams and took the easy way out, it is embarrassing to see and I hope he retires now because that event was one of the fundamental problems within boxing. To put it simply that was a joke/disgrace.

That card perfectly summed up the State of America's Heavyweight Division - Absolute sh1t from beginning to end

But on a positive note, I loved the musical interludes!

So what do you think lads and lassies? Was the cut an excuse to stop the fight cause Holyfield was eating right hands, or was he only eating right hands because he couldnt see out of his left eye.

From the video it looked like a clash of heads caused it no doubt. Fair play to Williams too who probably got a raw deal, tried to take all the positives out of it and left with a personal victory.

At least Holyfield wasnt subjected to what Marco Antonio Barerra went through, blood gushing out of him from was it the second round on against Kahn and then the fight all of a sudden stopped in the fifth round, resulting in MAB dropping a points decision to a kid who wouldnt last 5 rounds with him in sparring in his day let alone in a fight.

This X 1000. Load of crap that decision was, fight should have been stopped the instant that cut opened.

As for Holyfield, just retire already. Legend ruining his reputation with every defeat, another Roy Jones.

Missed the fight on Saturday, seen some of the posts here and watched the fight today.

I definitely think the cut had a huge effect on Holyfields sight. It happened just at the end of the second round and I think it was deliberate, Williams was fighting dirty all the way through hitting after the break was called etc..

Holyfield was in amazing shape and was pretty quick on his feet, but not very effective in the first two rounds. I would have loved the fight to go on see how it played out. Williams was jumping in with wild shots which were missing by a long way in rounds 1 and 2. In round 3 everything landed, definitely due to the cut.

If you consider them washed up journeymen, then maybe. There is a point where a fighter has to call it a day, and for Holyfield, (who is one of my all time favourites btw) that day has long passed.

Yea, he is finished, my last post didnt really come out right , I suppose what I was trying to say is, I respect these guys for fighting on, money problems or no money problems. It takes a lot of dedication.

As for my comment about "more to offer the sport" well yea I just ****ed up there, If they are not up to a proper high standard then they are just doing the sport a disfavour by staying on. End up giving boxing a bad reputation (eg. Haye-Harrison, and now McBride-Adamek etc. etc.).

I don’t think these guys are just that bad yet!

(Sees Holyfield is set to fight Brian Neilsen next!) ok maybe Im wrong there :pac:

But there should be some sort of eliminator system in place which would sort out the contenders from the pretenders.
