has any body chanced there arm with sky.
    regarding there free sat card.
what i'm trying to say is.
i have being given a sky+ box , with a canceled sky card [irish card].
i was going to ring sky on the uk number and say i was ringing from the northern ireland and say i bought the box on ebay and ask them would they switch on the free sat channels. with the card that i have in the box.
i know its an irish canceled card. as i said i will say i'm ringing from the north and give a north address.
has anybody tried this before or am i wasting my time.
    let me know lads.
    thanks in advance

The free channels work without a card. The Clue is in the name.

There is the "Freesat-from-sky" Teaser service with Sky3, Fiver, Five us and a couple of other.
That is £26 to an address in UK (inc N.I.) with a Post Code.

If you ring saying you are in North they will offer to post a Card and will take Credit card for £26. Post only to a UK address including valid post code.

Here is list of free channels your box gets with no card http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_free-to-air_channels_in_the_UK

rang them ,will not activate card .
    worth a try.
will order one, using north address.
want it for other television , have free sat HD and would recommend.
i might be getting a free sky hd box, so card will come in handy.
as sky freesat has more HD channel.
    thanks for replies

Can anyone give an update as to the state of play with these cards now? Are you not entitled to get a sky free sat card in Ireland from sky Ireland ??
