Epilepsy?

    Hey guys. Mods long time poster here but wanted to go Unreg for this one,you'll see why.This might be better off for the illness forum,apologies if it is,just looking for opinions.
    Basically,about 2 months ago I took ecstasy for the first time. I know it was stupid and possibly the biggest mistake I made. I'm not looking for an anti drug lecture or anything here. I took it because everyone my age seemed to be taking it and no harm,so said I'd give it a go.
    Basically I remember taking it in a club and waking up in hospital the next morning.My heart had stopped,I needed to be recussitated (I never took drugs before this BTW).Every single time I think of that event and the upset it caused my family it makes me so mad but that isn't the point.
    The thing that's got me wondering lately is something my sister said to me. Now I understand different drugs have different effects on everyone but my sister's a student nurse and reckons I could have taken the seizure that night due to having epilepsy and the pills brought it on.
    Does anyone know if ecstasy can trigger epileptic seizures? My dad has epilepsy and I've seen him taking seizures before.For people who haven't seen this it is so scary it leaves you shook. I never knew he had it until one day about six months ago he took a seizure in my room in front of me(I'm 18).
    Does anyone know if what my sister said is right? She thinks if I do have it I'll show different syptoms,but would I not have shown them before then or was it just the fact that I took the E's?
    Again,no one needs to tell me about the danger of pills or anything else.I'll never touch them again,breaks my heart to think of how much I hurt my family that night.

    Hi there,

    I appreciate your concern about having had an epileptic seizure but we are not able to tell you if you had that or a single seizure caused by the ecstasy - which it can cause.

    I think you'd be much better off making an appointment with your doctor and asking for a referral to neurologist if you have fears that you have or are developing epilepsy.
