When I seen the similarity at first I was expecting Richards second name to be Madden.

I wonder have a pair of identical twins ever been seperated at birth for some reason:
Richard Riddell: Actor (Bruno from Misfits)

Simon Madden: Football player (Dundalk FC)

    dob : 1/5/88

It of course helps if the identical twins are born on the same date.

They don't have to be. I know identical twins with different dates of birth.

Yes I remember something about a gay couple who had two sons, one a few years older than the other, but they were actually twins. This was all because the surrogate mother had been impregnated with the same stuff but a just few years later. I am way too tired to use technical terms :o

It could happen if their Mam dies and they get adopted by separate people, one a wealthy, respectable gentleman and one a sassy black woman.

They meet in a mall and hilarity ensues!

OK so while this thread is here I want to get something settled......

If you want to know if twins look alike don't ask if they're identical, you can be identical and not look alike at all anymore.

Most times when people ask this, they want to know how alike you look.

My answer: 'yes it was the one egg but we don't look alike'.

Being 'identical' is a technicality if you will, ofc identical twins are far more likely to look alike.

This must mean that the point of his post was obvious. But that's still no good to me. Care to explain it?

Naw, I'm talking about identical twins who were born a few minutes apart, either side of midnight. They are well known. In their limited circle.

It can be more radical than that. There are a set of identical twins who were born on separate decades. In Florida, Marcello Velasco was delivered at 11:59:37 p.m. on Dec 31st 2009, the last baby of the decade. His brother Stephano was delivered at 12:00:02 a.m. on January 1, 2010. He was the first baby born at the hospital this decade.

Twins happen because two eggs are fertilised in the same month resulting in unidentical twins or one egg gets fertisised and splits in two and produces identical twins. What you have described is two seperate pregnancies from two seperate eggs, thats not twins. :)
