I'm always thinking of buying a new car. I'm just watching Tomorrow never dies on tv now. So i want an E38 740i in metallic grey!

    I'm looking for family mpv

have ruled out the peugot 307 estate, now between the scenic and maybe the picasso. €5000 limit and more than likely will go for 1.6 petrol.

Well to be fair, e38s aren't expensive these days. 2000 would get you one, probably not a 740 though. Bangernomics!

    EDIT
Actually here's one! Bang on the money. Although i doubt it has an nct and who know what the mileage is.

    Yup
    Lexus Is220d
    Love it
    Milage when bought 74,000
Mpg, absolutely shocking for a diesel, averaging 32mpg

    Things I love,
    Heated seats
Lights that follow you round the cornor
    Electric everything
    Comfy leather
    180bhp
    Rear wheel drive

Would I buy new? Not a hope but as a second hand motor more or less impossible to get the same extras in any car. Upset with the mpg but used to turbo petrols so I'll learn to live with it.

Next car? S2000 when I start to do less milage per year.

Yup, picked it up today. 09 Octavia vRS CR170, 38k km. Has xenons and the 18 inch alloy wheel upgrade and I'm getting an oem sat nav unit fitted next week.

Did Cork to Dublin this evening and the trip computer shows an average of 5.5l/100km. Also has enough urge for overtaking and was comfy which exacty fits the brief I has when choosing a new car.

Good going there! sounds like a decent motor! Interested to find out what the petrol consumption is like. Was tempted to buy an accord 2 years ago. Was all set of the 2.2 diesel version but was a tad pricey at the time.

The diesel version always had a noisy enough engine...which of course turned me back to the petrol - but was afraid of it killing me with fuel costs and big tax so backed out of my big plan:(
