Which paper is better or worse or more depressing to read?.

So how does the poll work?

I voted Sunday World but now I'm not sure what I voted for, better, worse, or more depressing

Both are sensational rags that only appeal to and report on the lowest common denominator.

I use my monicle to read the Sunday Times.

What's the reason for being reasonable?

    Is that an unreasonable question?

I read neither, but suggest that the one with the most nudity would be the better buy.

I'd buy the one that isn't owned by Lizard Murdoch,

Both papers are gossip, scare mongering, tripe and everything written in them is about sensalising and dragging people & places through the muck,

    Both equally poor taste

Sunday World. The only good thing about it is the TV mag in it. Both papers are full of ****e. Same format every week.
    Page 1-10 Irelands gangs,
10-20 how we are all fuked with the problems in Ireland/politicians are bad/banks bad
20-30 prostitution in Ireland/Irish going abroad for sex/sex slaves/seedy underbelly etc,
30-40 onwards opinions from people I don't care about and adverts,
    rest of paper sport.

Its the same bull every week.

How anyone reads either of them is beyond me.

I've seen photos in the SW captioned with phrases like 'xytzfedv'
You'd get fired from editing a parish bulletin for less ...

both are crap, nothing worth reading in either....

Both as bad as each other, would rate the sunday world ever so very slightly better, only becuase its an irish slant to the gutter journolism they both publish.

In saying that, neither are worthy of toilet paper status.

NOTW is bigger so you get more toilet roll for your money!

I read the Sunday Times(whenever somebody else in the house buys it.)

My granny used to read the Sunday World, but that was way back in the '80s. I'd read the cartoons in the centre spread. (Now that was the right thing to do with the middle pages!)

Last time I came back to Ireland I picked up a copy and I threw it back down. Either I've grown up or else the Sunday World has declined drastically in the past 25 years. In the first place it doesn't carry any cartoons any more.

Looking at the poll above must people say they dont read any of them, yet both papers as in SW Ireland and NOTHW in uk claim by frequent independent readership polls to be the top selling papers in respective countries,.. An awful lot of people believe in what they read.

News of the world tends to be the more outrageous/fictionialized. Also more nudity/titilating stories...thus it wins
If i'm feeling pretentious i'll buy the sunday indo which also contains quite a lot of nudity/stories about shagging etc...

Neither of them even have any decent boobage.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,689 ✭✭✭✭OutlawPete

News Of The World for the bewbs and no more Williams has to be a plus, so if I HAD to buy one, that would be the choice I suppose.

Tend not to buy either, if I want to call criminals names, I can do that perfectly well on my own and buy a bag of chips with my €2.

If you want some boobage, Amanda Brunker is in the Sunday World and if you want a bigger tit then Bertie Ahern is in the News of the World.

Sunday World so. I read the Times sometimes but the parents always buy that pretentious pile of future firelighters the Sindo.
