Heres the story: I fitted a set of EMG ZW pickups (81/85) to my LTD JH200. Wiring is correct, nre battery etc but the volume pot makes a serious racket when you turn it.

Ive fitted loads of these sets and never had an issue. Anyone any ideas?

Well how'd ya fix it so?

I've a guitar like that... Was going to get it fixed but I never move it off full volume so didn't even bother at the time. Might as well if it's a simple fix!

I don't know how true this is, but I've heard that it's buildup of dust, and can be removed using compressed air.

I had the pickups earthed to the bridge which you dont need to do on EMG active pickups. If its an old guitar just fire in a new pot, problem solved. You could try using servisol on it but its unlikely thad cure it

Had a similar problem but a chemical clean of the pots (by a tech) sorted it out in 2 mins.
