    Any body able to recommend or even sell software for project management of and controlling a self build?

    Microsoft project is perfect for a self build and excel will keep track of the costs fine. Most QS companies use Buildsoft for costings and while its great it is over the top for your needs from a cost point of view

    wow didnt realise it was that expensive, well its a bit ott for a self build anyway tbh like excel will keep a project on schedule if ya colour in the boxes....project is handy though as you can link tasks so that if one task is running late the follow on tasks move out automatically - prob best to buy a cheap second hand comp/laptop that has ms project installed; an old version such as 2007 is more than adequate - i wouldnt condone getting a dodgy copy but there are plenty out there
