    It's not mentioned on the website; I got one of their brochures yesterday when doing my shopping in Limerick. Initially thought it would be in the same places as last year, but I was wrong.

    Dublin - Gulliver's Retail Park, Northwood, Dublin 9;
    Sligo - Sligo Retail Park, Carrowroe;
    Cork - West City Retail Park, Inismore, Ballincollig.

    Items mentioned in the brochure:

    Wooden garden bench - €29.99 reduced from €89.99,
    8'' Rain Shower Set - €39.99 reduced from €89.99
    Lava Rock Gas Barbeque - €34.99 reduced from €69.99
    Stream Water Feature - €79.99 reduced from €179.99
    9.5' Inflatable Dinghy - €199.99 reduced from €549.99
    Slim HD Recorder - €69.99 reduced from €109.99
    Men's S3 Safety Boots/Shoes - €15.00 reduced from €24.99
    2.5HP/24L Air Compressor - €50.00 reduced from €99.99

    Sailing Clothing - all €29.99,
    Jackets - €9.99
    Footwear - €4.99

    You couldn't find it because it doesn't exist. They rent one of the empty buildings for a dew days only and close again after the end of the sale. Went to it last time and it was a complete waste of time. Pure rubbish for sale in a very car boot type of way. Awful rubbish.

    The inflatable dinghy is a steal at €199. It was good value when it was 549 (or 499 last time I though) - there's quite a few of them around here and they seem to stand up to abuse and being left out in all weather.

    That was so funny in July wasn't it - I too watched from a distance so here's the plan I'll meet you there at 6:00 a.m. and we'll sell tea/coffee and sausage rolls from our cars - we'll make a fortune :D

    Thanks OP, but i went to the one in santry last year, and it was total and utter MUCK. I often pop into aldi or Lidl for things but this was like the stuff no one wanted. Won't be going again.

    I went to one in galway last year. They had some nice stuff as well as some horrible stuff. They don't advertise everything in advance.
    Got rechargeable batteries, hiking backpack, a laptop bag for 50c, some cycling gear.

    Got the same brochure earlier.. very little to write home about tbh (unless you're in the market for a Dinghy.. but who isn't)!

    Especially considering how wedged it'll be first thing Friday morning.

    +1. The quality of lidl stuff seems to have gone down a lot in the last year or two. The stuff in Santry last year was muck, it was soiled + damaged stuff that other lidl stores had returned / could not sell.

    Wouldn't mind the compressor @ €50 but the drive to Sligo would take the good out of the price.

    Was at Sligo one. Got there at 9am. Complete waste of time, it really was a load of junk. Its just the crap they cant sell in store because no one wants them. Also heard that the compressors were gone by 8am through ticket allocations. Huge crowds.

    Completely agree. I got there at about 2pm and it was packed but it really was just a load of old junk on sale. Looked more like an enormous jumble sale. :rolleyes:

    Was in the Sligo one today..

    .. to be fair, there was some grand stuff on offer if you were doing up a house or garden.

    But nothing amazing.

    Picked up a Heart Rate Monitor Watch for a tenner that was on sale for about €20 when it was in stores.

    was the same in the cork one. Had loads of garden benchs and home stuff like mattresses and covers and stuff like that that looked good if you needed it. The rest of the stuff wasn't good

    I went to the Cork one Friday - freezing Q and about 10 minutes after the store opened the Security guys strolled the Q advising the compressors were all gone. I only noticed 10-15 compressors at most being trollied out. One greedy git ahd 3 in a trolley! There were some good deals on tools - circular saws for €15 and loads of gym/cycling wear as well as good sailing gear. I got a great microwave for €30. Offset taht against teh wafflemaker for a tenner that may never see teh light of day. In my defence everyone buys something useless in a sale!

    The catch really was the Q in was not much fun, but the checkout was a very long wait.

    The Sunday one had a smaller Q according to a pal who went for a dinghy. Security told him all 28 had been ticketed out long since - over an hour before opening. In fact he said some people had been Queuing at 6.30 AM!

    Ya i heard that too. they most have been freezing as it was proper cold this morning!

    When i went out there around 1 there was no queue to get in and the queue at the check outs was quite small too. What time did you arrive at Daibheid?

    Bright-eyed and bushy tailed at 8.40 Friday to see an enormous Q waiting for opening. They were offering free tea and coffee and the Q was well organized with barriers and signs. I also have to say the staff -despite being under huge pressure- were all unfailingly pleasant. Ditto the security guys.
    Between getting in and paying you'd still need to allow your morning to visit one of these sales.
