Netbook problem

I have a Toshiba Nb100 netbook and when i turn it on it says
the following file is missing \windows\system32\config\system

You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup Cd-ROM.

I have the CD, but there is no CD drive in the netbook. Is there a way I could use a usb flash drive to solve the problem.

    Thanks,
    Colm

I've never been able to get an XP installation to work from USB, so you might be out of luck. If it's new, bring it back to the shop and they should replace it. Something similar happened to my brother about a year and a half ago, although I think it was an Asus eee pc.

Find yourself a external CD rewriter and work from there
