Getting married later this year, attended a few wedding fairs and have got lots on info and prices from various wedding photographers, but we have no idea which one to pick, we have it narrowed down to about five at the moment, anyone recommend any one they have had in the past ?

3 things i would say to you about choosing your photographer would be

    1. Look at your budget and the packages on offer.

    2. Look at there portfolio's and choose a style that you like.

    3. And probably most importantly, choose someone who you get on with, you will spend a big chunk of your time with your photographer on the day.

Hi, I got married last summer and Barry's did the photography. I'd recommend them as the they really put us at ease and even the men didn't complain of having to stand around for photos! My husband was a groomsman at a wedding the previous year and said our photographer was so much better. Hope that's helpful for you. Good luck.:)

There are a few boardsies who do it. Can't think of them all, but rymus is one of them, he did a friends wedding a few years ago and the shots were incredible. And that's speaking as an amateur photographer myself! Might be no harm to bung him a PM.

    We had this girl http://www.niamhcullinane.ie/

She was excellent, I couldn't recommend her highly enough and much cheaper than others we priced.

It wasn't a factor in deciding the photographer but looking back on the day, having a female photographer was great, especially in the house getting ready.

Best of luck with your wedding.

Hi Rebel1977, sorry I don't know how to PM! Re the cost we were lucky to get is as a wedding present from my Godfather so I can't help you there as I was too embarrassed to ask, sorry. And yes it is Barry's in town, round the corner from the GPO.

I too agree that choosing a wedding photographer is not an easy task to do, because wedding is a once in a life time experience. I would suggest you to search online, because internet is the best place to look for experienced and professional wedding photographers, you will surely be satisfied.

Thanks for that, we are looking at a package of album, couple mini albums for parents and bridemaids, cd of the photos and a dvd.

One thing we learned which I was not aware of is some photographers copyright their photos, so when you get a cd of your photos he/she has their name part of the photo, which is a disaster if you want to give someone a few framed pics etc of the wedding

I would recommend Ted Murphy or John Roche then. Ted did my wedding photos and I have to say he did a fantastic job. The best part of all is that all the negs are given to you, so the copyright's yours. Ted & John share a studio that's in that little street right by Tesco's in Paul St. Please feel free to PM if you'd like more details.
