I'm thinking bout gettin me a .17 & was lookin at 2 models, 1 has a light barrel & the other is a heavy barrel. Which would you guys prefer? Is there a significant accuracy benefit to be had from a heavier barrel in a smaller calibre such as .17???

The rifles the dealer showed me were cz & marlin, a style & american in light barrel & a 917v in heavy. The cz's were definitely more visually pleasing but I'd prefer the heavy barrel marlin. Its a shame it wasn't stainless

    Hi landkeeper

I'd spend 600 give or take. I have a savage mark II BTVLSS & luv it to bits so wudnt say no to having another savage but R.H. thumbhole is probably the worst stock set up for me. If your dealer had 1 in left hand then I'd b tempted. R even a savage 93R17 TR
