The Moon

I got a 15-45x50(or 60, I forget!) spotting scope lately, mostly for finding wayward sheep on the hills. Coming home tonight I set it up on the roof of the car and had a good look at the moon which was just getting up.

Wow :D I could make out the craters, impacts, lots of different features I hadn't expected to see. I'll definitely be setting it up again soon, hopefully tomorrow night will be clear too!

Nothing exactly ground breaking there, it was just a nice moment for me today.

    ATB,

    John

Jupiter is out and about now john, have a look.

Get a program called stellarium and it will tell you whats in the sky in your location at whatever time you put in.

I actually downloaded Stellarium a couple of weeks ago, must put it to use now lol. I must cobble together some type of aparatus that will let my camera fit to the scope, that'll make for some good photos I reckon - if it works :pac:

Spotting Scope in Aldi next Thursday, €25. I havent had good experiences with cheap zoom stuff in the past though, I often find the image very dark compared to regular stuff.
