    Hi there,

Played COD last night, then turned on PS3 tonight. Froze on wavy load up screen. Googled it, then following the steps I did a soft reset, menu popped up, chose option 3 to restore corrupt system file (i think, i know it was defo choice 3), followed instructions to push PS button and then push x. A progress bar appeared, it loaded to 100%, system restarted, then only gave me the same instruction to push the PS button and x again... Done that about 10 times now, no change, anyone any advice, god i need a hit of COD right now...

Are there any external hard disks or usb flash drives connected. If so, remove them and restart.

Have a similar problem myself guys,

PS3 is freezing 5 minutes into a game or when web browsing. Have to then turn system off at the back.

Restored it, same problem. Is this a problem with an internal component or something else??

Ok, USB in, made folder called PS3 then folder in that called UPDATE and then put the pup file in there with nothing else.

Soft reset, then system update, then this message:

    The data is corrupted.

    any ideas?

The hard disk may be faulty can you take it out and test it?

How do i do that? screwdriver? Is it to check if a wire is lose or could the hard drive itself be busted?
I've an external hard drive I could use, but how would I load everything on it etc?

Thanks a lot for the help, don't have much of a clue what i'm at tbh

Not without formatting it in a laptop or similar but you will lose everything.
