A simple daily activity such as reading the newspaper, or more importantly boards, could be completed so much quicker by speed reading.
A man read a book once that is 900 pages long in 40 minutes and could accurately read questions on it. That is over 2 pages in 1 second!

There are other videos on the subject that go into more detail, but a book on it would be the best way to learn this amazing skill!
Perhaps even re-read it and see how long it takes second time round.
    Cue intellectual and comedic replies!

Sounds like effort to learn I'll stick to me 900 pages in 42 minutes if it's all the same to you

I dont read word by word. I read half pages at a time by image rather than text. I can finish a 400 page book in a day.
900 in 40 minutes is a bit iffy though.

    That seems a little exaggerated.

Think you are right there about 2.6 seconds per page?

It's actually a page every 2.6 seconds. And I doubt it can be done.
Wouldn't be a lot of fun reading that fast either.

My favourite bit was where he did stuff.

I think when he "read" it in 40 minutes, he WAS re-reading it.

An almost pointless skill that gives you no satisfaction, but it sure looks cool and nothing gets you sex like impressive book reading skills.

Anyone else remember the infomercials that were on late at night years ago selling this?

Can't remember what channel but was terrestrial and feckin' hilarious.

I'd say it's possible but you'd only half get a story - like you might be able to pick up the jist of a story but that'd be it - no hope of knowing every little intricate bit of detail though but good for reading a book for college or something

It's true. The smart guy in Criminal Minds does it.

He's smart so he can read fast.

So can Raymond Babbit. Its not about intelligence. Its about how your mind works.
