    Hi all,

I'm thinking of applying for a skilled migration visa as I was in oz for 2 months last year and have been wanting to go back since I came home. Just wondering how long does it take to process the visa. I'm an ACCA qualified accountant and was wondering is there many jobs in sydney for accountants.

Also when applying for the visa can I put down 2 occupations and get 120 points as an Accountant is 60 points and an Auditor is 60 points and in my current job I do both?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

from my extremely limited knowledge i think you can only put one skill down, ie you have to pick one or other! but im new to research on visas so open to correction!

No you can only put 1.... max points for occupation allowed is 60

also Accountancy is a sh*t of an occupation because it is mandatory to do the IELTS and achieve 7.0 across the board.
To meet the English proficiency requirement you must have:

an IELTS academic test report form is required showing a band score of at least seven (7) on each of the four (4) components – speaking, reading, listening and writing

Please note graduates of an Australian accounting degree who have completed the Skilled Migration Internship Program: Accounting (SMIPA) may provide their SMIPA transcripts and completion certificate in place of IELTS.

All other individuals must meet the IELTS requirement.

Please note that a successful assessment is valid for two years from the assessment outcome date.

Individuals who have submitted an application before 30 June 2010 will need to ensure that all outstanding documentation is received by CPA Australia by 31 August 2010 to be assessed under the previous criteria.

    http://www.cpaaustralia.com.au/cps/rde/xchg/cpa-site/hs.xsl/become-how-migration.html

All other occupations only require an Irish/British/USA/Canadian to prove you speak English.

Accountants are required to do the test.
