    Hello there,

going looking at a few cars tomorrow, I've already had a trawl through boards but I wanted to see if anybody had some recent experiences with the following dealers.

    www.japcars.ie
    www.ascars.ie
    www.rightpricecars.ie

Jap cars seem to be getting fairly dodgy reports.
I'd really appreciate any help, thanks!

There has been several threads on them here. Japcars have a fairly bad name.

it might be easier to look at the ad for the car your interested in?

Yeah, I'm a bit sceptical about Jap Cars to be honest, leaning towards the other two as they both state that they provide service history/motor check/warranty etc.
Here's what I was looking at

    AS Cars
    Right Price
    Jap Cars
    Jap Cars 2

wouldnt be touching either of the seats. if i had to pick any id pick the first corolla from AS Cars, but ideally, id hold out and shop a little more. personally just.

    How about

    http://www.driving.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=201102200852286

Seems better value and probably some room for negotiation.

the toledo has naff alloys so i'd say its seen hardship from a smack head, a bit stereotypical, but there you go

the cordoba looks tidy but it also looks a bit poverty spec, i can see spot lights but thats the only option i can see. the dealer seems to spend more time talking about his 'largest car supermarket, 3 acres, sexy location, delivery service yada yada' rather than actually telling me anything about the car except that it has power steering and metalic paint which i could have guessed.

the first corolla for better reliability than the seats, it also cheaper has less mileage and more test than the second corolla.

They are actually a very nice car. Thats a good price actually. 500 euro more than a 03 Boreolla in that Jap place..

    Thanks lads, much appreciated.

I see that the cordoba on the Carzone site has miraculously gone from an asking price of 4450 to POA..........just because you're paranoid, don't mean they're not after you!

The Corolla in AC Cars is gone unfortunately.

I took a look at the Cordoba in Right Price Cars, drove well, body in good shape, full service history, NCT'd till 2013 what do yis think.....a good buy at 4250?

Any of RPC's older stuff is cheap trade shoite that's cleaned up, generally not nice cars, hence the prices

    Thanks Colm,

hate to harp on about it but if the car's just passed NCT is that not a good indication?
Also, would you class an 05 as an "older" car.

    Completely clueless about this, thanks.

Also, I ran a history check on mywheels.ie and everything came up rosy, would you put any faith in that?

you were lucky the corolla was gone coz AS cars has another dealer working out of there, DS cars, absolute chancers in my opinion, there have been a couple of people posting on here about these guys.
I myself have had the bad fortune of having dealt with these cowoys.
