Small 2 bed apartment, it has a back boiler and radiators installed.

Does anyone have any idea very roughly how much to have oil heating installed? Thought I'd ask here before ringing around.

    TIA.

It depends really. Is it a ground floor apartment, and is there space outside to install a boiler, and will it cause problems with the landlords / property management companies etc..

Will floors need to be dug up etc.....

Expect a boiler and tank (non condensing) to cost anywhere up to about €1400.

Its difficult to put a guess on it without seeing the flat and the amount of work needed.

Thanks Fingers, that's around the figure I imagined. Only problem is there's no access to the back garden for the tank, so it would have to be small enough to go through a regular sized doorway. Will think about it, it's not urgent for now. It's for my mums place and she may need it eventually.

Budget of 5k with a condensing boiler.

You can get slimline oil tanks that should be within the dimensions of doorways,

    Something like this.

You would need to be thinking of a condensing boiler and a double skimmed tank. Thinnest tank I've seen is about 695mm I think and I managed to get it through metal gates etc.

Could be talking ~£1,200 for oil tank and setting, ~£1,500 for HE kabin pak boiler installed and anywhere from £500-£1,000 for altering pipework/wiring any upgrades that needs done

Thanks for the info lads. I'll be lugging coal for another while yet!

Fingers I'll give you a call in a year or two. Or sooner, depending on Lotto numbers.
