I was in Birthdays a few days ago looking for a nice birthday card for my mothers 59th, when i spotted an odd card with Cliff Richard on the front. It said on it "Happy Birthday From Cliff" and Cliff sitting on the front all shiny with a big fake "Hurry up and take the Damn picture" smile on his face.

Upon opening it i was treated to a verse of Happy Birthday by Cliff and i got some odd looks i tell ya.

So desperate for cash must old Cliff have been to do this?

My boyfriend got me the "Cliff Card" about 2 birthdays ago, It's a great joke card to get someone. Had an after the pub party in mine and played it for Everyone!!!

If Cliff had any talent instead of being just a performer then he'd still be raking in money from the songs. But he didn't write them and broadcasts are public domain after 50 years.

Had he produced something copyrightable then royalties would be chargable for 70 years after his death.

Bottom line he won't starve since he has a state pension, and had plenty of opportunity to save something during many of his comebacks.
