When does the FORM 12 for the previous tax year just ended usually become available for download from revenue.ie ?

If you're really in a hurry you can just change the date to 2010 everywhere it appears. I've done it before.

The form 12 is just about your income so doesn't change every year to reflect changes in allowances etc. The only change is usually the date.

    Would a Form 11 do?

Terrible advice, giving incorrect advice is dangerous.

Form 11 is not the correct form to use and do not change the year.

Either be patient and wait for the form to issue or if your employer has filed their P35 use PAYE anytime.

I asked the OP if he needed a form 11, not told him to use one. Plenty of people use a form 11 where a form 12 will do.

When I worked in tax we used whatever years forms we had to hand and the Revenue never gave a darn. But hey, maybe things have changed.

The op's thread is entitled Form 12.

A form 11 shouldn't be used - it is for proprietary directors and those with Case I income over €3,174. A form 12 is for those in paye employment.

The problem with using a form 11 is that you then become self assessed meaning you have to file a tax return every year (maybe this was why your firm was doing it as it means they have to return each year) even if you only have a P60, were as with a form 12 once you file one you dont have to file one until you have more than a P60.

I would never advise someone to either doctor a form to suit or file the wrong form.

The correct thing to do is as per my post above.

    Brian
