    Interesting stuff. I wouldn't be too concerned if you password is alpha-numeric as they are (more than likely) hashed in the database. If its a dictionary word, certainly change it immediately.

    They'd either have to be hashing all passwords in their DB, or none. Whether the user's password was random or a dictionary word is irrelevant to how it is stored and dealt with in the DB.

    Since the article says the hackers likely got the actual passwords, it's safe to say they weren't hashed - otherwise the article would say that the attackers got the hashes (which they'd be unlikely to do anything with).
