Is a Fender Blues Deluxe suitable for home?

I was testing out a few pedals recently and the guy in the shop plugged me into one of these babies. Man the sound was just sweet, I really loved it and I've seen a few on adverts.ie for decent enough prices so I'm tempted.

However, I only play at home (through a Ht-5 at the moment) and I'd be a bit worried about the Blues Deluxe being massive overkill for home use.

    Anyone got any advice?

I have one in the house, the volume never goes above 2, but i still love it all the same. I don't play it at "bedroom volumes" i just wait for everyone in the house to leave!
It really depends on your setup, i mean if you have to keep it down with what you've already got then i'd look elsewhere tbh. Great amp all the same, love it.

Haha, I guess I knew deep down it would be a bit much :) I don't even crank the HT-5.
Still, that sound... wow! You lucky ****** !

Tbh, if you're worried about it being too loud (Which it most definitely is!!!!) Look at a Fender Blues junior, it's 15watts, so it's a bit quieter, not all that much mind. It would suit your setup perfectly, i've often thought about getting one.

I assume you mean the Blues Jr? The Blues Jr is 15 watts, from the same range as the Blues Deluxe, and has a similar tone.

Single channel, doesn't have an effects loop, but still a great little amp. May still be too loud for your purposes though -to get the most out of the tone you need to turn it up (like all valve amps) and it's plenty loud enough for band rehearsals and small gigs.

If you can find a blonde/tweed NOS version (with a Jensen speaker) second hand it's even better again, very close to the Deluxe tone.

    Yup i meant the junior.

The junior does have a master volume pot though, which enables you to get some grit out of the preamp valves. This is not the case with the BLues Deluxe/
