Any way to find out when a politician will be coming door to door?

Now that the date is set I was wondering if there is anywhere that shows when a politician will be going door to door in my area.

I have my list of issues and want to hear their answers face to face. Still not sure who I will vote for yet (well I know who im not voting for) so it will all depend on this.

ring the TDs in your area or their assistants/office/whatever and ask if they have some sort of canvassing plan or itinerary made.

It's a fair point though. It makes it all too easy for the slimy gits (of all parties) to be able to creep into an estate with a group, have the group members sound out a few houses and offer the friendliest voter a rare exceptional opportunity of meeting her local TD/Minister. It's fair to say that most of the time a good many people will be out and return to find party propaganda strewn acroos the hall. If the parties want to use the web so well, why not publish a page for each candidate with a rough timetable of the canvass plans so that interested parties could make an effort to be home to 'discuss' their specific issues with the representative. Now in the days of GPS enabled phones, they could really make the web useful by providing a live candidate location service combined with the planned timetable.

Of course, it's far easier drop crap through a letterbox and slink away.

Well its quite possible that the TD will not come toyour door at all. Instead, it might just be one of his canvassers

    .

There could be over 50,000 people in your constituency there is no possible for way for a candidate to visit every estate and every area.

There will be canvassers in the area but the candidate could be on the other side of the city or county. Or you know in Dáil offices working.

If you realy want to talk to them call them up their office and arrange a time to ask your questions, you are a constituent after all.
Or go to one of their clinics, advertised in your local paper.

The idea to call the office to check for an itinerary is a good one too.

Its impossible for a candidate to call to every door. We always give each house a leaflet with all the candidates contact details so the people are free to get in touch. Im sure you could arrange to meet the candidate if it suits you both

In our area the sitting FF TD's will only appear at your door when their minions have given them the ok. It is a bit like watching the secret service clearing the way for the president. They are bloody spineless.

There was some canvassing in December in some areas, so they may have already come and gone.
