OS Maps Planning Application

When purchased can an OS Map only ever be used for the one planning application? Can the original OS Map be used again when submitting a new/second planning application for the same site, same client but with an altered design, or is a new map required?
    Anyone know?
    Thanks

    Boots,
Surely when you lodged the 1st application you submitted all 6No. Original OS maps to support that application? If so, all you would have left, I assume, are photocopies of the originals. If so, these are NOT acceptable to the LA. If on the other hand you had all documentation returned to you, say for invalidation reason, all you need to do is cross out the origibal PD ref and resubmit. Maybe I am misunderstanding your query here?

This is on the assumption you do not have a License to reproduce the maps.

Also, you may be breaching the copyright of the OSI:eek: See link attached below re copyright.

I bought online and had digital pdf's emailed to me so I still have originals on file. Can i just print out 6 more copies of same? I've withdrawn the original application and preparing to submit new proposal.

Look at the licence attached to the map sale or terms and conditions. Normally unless you have a copyright licence you have to buy a new map(licence)

If you paid around €50, this is only for one usage. Now while you are able to print them off again, its against the copyright. I was actually very surprised recently when an agent here in mayo said he was contacted by OSI in relation to copied maps he had submitted and he then had to buy licence etc so not worth messing around.

A single planning pack is for a single planning application. You cant copy the maps in the planning pack unless you have a licence.

If you are submitting another application you will need another set of original maps - ie. a planning pack

If you are regularly using/copying maps, you can purchase a yearly copyright licence from OSI

Having scanned the maps for years to use as a base for my site layout drawings I found out last year that that was a breach of copyright unless I bought a digital planning pack and a licence, so that is what I now do, it costs 112 but it means you can print the data at the scales you need, for both the site location and site layout plans and the licence is for two years so if you need to reuse the maps for the same project you can!!

you need to get clarification form OSI, but to my ignorant understanding.... that would be considered the same planning application.. same client, same site... no application has been concluded on site....

the following is what is conditioned on the OSI site:

"This product is copyright protected. Copyright has been automatically included in the price of the Planning Pack. You can print the map as many times as is required for your planning application by your local Planning Authority. This product is sold for the purpose of submitting a planning application. It is not sold for resale. A planning pack may only be used for one planning application. The copyright, as defined by the order number on a planning pack, is only applicable for one use."

Ditto. That's exactly what I do (E 111.80) after getting a wrap on the knuckles from OSI.
