I have an '80's transit camper insied is pretty good but outside lets it down, need a door, wing, side steps and rear arches to be fixed.
Enigine, chasis and gearbox, pop top roof seem to be perfect.
Im handy enough but havnt taken on anything like this before.
Was thinking of doing it or just selling it.
    Is it worth doing?

Try the classifieds in Classic Van and Pick up magazine. Available in Easons and bigger newsagents.

this will sound odd....go to www.buysellcortina.co.uk and find "FRED TRANSIT"

SHE...repeat she supplies old Transits to film companies and is a great girl who Im absolutely certain will help you find what you need.
(Its the only way I know of contacting her, Im sure she is on all the transit forums too.

pretty certain she's on oldskoolford.co.uk also (great site)

Not sure if this link will copy and paste too well, but hadrians do a certain amount of panels:

I stuck a question up here about that some weeks ago and MIG seems to be the way to go.
Have been looking for one on Donedeal but they all seem to be "profesional" type welders with big price tags.
Hoping to get one from Mc Quinlans or the like for 250/300
I think 150amp should be ok?
Ill spray it myself also..not worried about that realy...only worried about steel work.
Ill stick a thread up with progress pictures when i start if that ok to do on here?
From what i remember ford engines are easy to work on...even for the inexperienced like me.
Interior will be an easy enough refurb (new covers, curtins ect) probably install a fridge also...and a disco ball:D
Worried about getting and potential cost of window rubbers and the like.

the doors and bonnet are very hard to get especially new.steps and arches can be bought quite easily try www.hadriancarpanels.com. in the uk,shamrock panels over here also but might be dearer.
    as for fred join
www,mkmk2transit.19.forumer.com. that's her site and there are some very knowledgeable people on there with a wealth of information.
i have a mk2 camper and they are well worth doing up.
